Benefit Analyst

Description:

• Create bid specs file and updates WIP report and database as appropriate.
• Generates 90 – 120 day letters.
• Draft request for quotes, fax request to appropriate carriers, follow-up as necessary and verify accuracy of quotes with request. Processing completed on a timely basis, based on deadline of producer/account manager.
• Maintains current knowledge of vendor products and the administration of products.
• Negotiate carrier numbers and rate guarantee periods. Discussions completed in a professional and proactive basis with goal of obtaining best design for clients.
• Works closely with producers and account managers. Create prospect and renewal presentations. Presentations completed in an accurate and timely manner based on deadline.
• Verify accuracy of numbers based on final effective date.
• Send vendor thank-you letters as appropriate.
• Maintain producer’s follow-up file initiating reminders to producer with action needed. Follow-ups complete on a daily basis.
• As needed, develop upgrade presentations.

Qualifications:

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience. Life and Health license and CEBS coursework is desired.

Minimum Experience: Five years in Health & Welfare Benefits, preferably with two years experience at a brokerage/consulting firm.

Technical Knowledge and Skills: Excellence in customer service, computer literacy, comfort with the internet, highly effective communication skills as well as a thorough knowledge of all health and welfare products and relevant legislation, such as HIPAA, COBRA, etc. Excellent project management skills and self-motivation are keys to success. Must be able to work in a team environment.
