Detention Specialist - Adams County Sheriff's Detention Facility
Twelve (12) hour shifts, rotating days and nights every quarter. |
Duties: |
| Monitor and record inmate access to and from the modules, individual pods, visiting areas, master control, and booking control. Observation activities for safety of Sheriff’s Office staff, contract staff, and inmates. Communicate by using telephone, computer, and two-way radio and intercom system. Operate control panel and emergency alarm systems. Requires the application of independent judgment, interpretation of applicable policies and procedures. Reports directly to the Platoon Sergeant in the Jail Division. |
Qualifications: |
| High School Diploma or GED. 18 years of age. Knowledge of computer systems. Must be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to maintain level of confidentiality with Sheriff’s Office guidelines. Mental alertness and ability to adapt to routines. Ability to type 25 wpm with accuracy. Have the ability to maintain a professional attitude in difficult circumstances. Able to reason out problems and reach appropriate conclusions. Must be able to handle/perform multiple tasks at one time. Must be able to interact effectively with the diverse groups and individuals. Requires candidates to work rotating shifts, holidays and weekends. |
