Hands-On Labs, Inc., the producer of LabPaqs, (HOL) is a dynamic, fast growing Denver, Colorado corporation dedicated to the advancement of science education within the higher education markets in the US. The Manufacturing Technician will oversee the product development cycle from initiation to product completion including sustaining products used for science lab kits. This individual works closely with clients and internal departments (R&D, sales, marketing, procurement, and production) to ensure products are designed and delivered as efficiently as possible, while meeting market demand and educational specifications.
The position reports to the Director of Operations. The salary range is commensurate with education and experience. |
Duties: |
•Manage and track products, materials, and product documentation from product creation through product release
•Coordinate the team (R&D, Sales, Marketing, Order Management, Procurement, Manufacturing Operations, and Logistic) for product launch & all sustaining activities
•Collaborate with R&D and Operations staff to ensure materials are used with maximum efficiency
•Prepare progress reports and ensure timely and efficient delivery of quality products
•Interface with sales to clarify requirements and to verify products exceed expectations
•Coordinate new product requests and recommendations in terms of materials, costs, feasibility of concept, and qualification of manufacturing
•Compile pricing proposals; analyze and recommend configuration options
•Plan and define retrofitting steps with Manufacturing Operations
•Develop and maintain accurate configuration control with item specifications and product bill of materials utilizing ERP and PLM systems
•Create, control, and monitor engineering change requests and orders
•Assist with product and material forecasting
•Manage product catalog on web store |
Qualifications: |
•Bachelor's Degree preferred - preferably in business, engineering, or a lab science
•Interest and coursework in anatomy, biology, chemistry or other lab science is preferable
•At least 5 years experience working in a product development and/or configuration management role
•Experience writing product specifications, developing bill of materials, and managing configurated products with product master and variants
•Proficiency with computer software: MS-Word, Excel, Access, Project, and PLM. Database management experience preferred.
•Familiarity with production and operations management software: CMS, ERP, and PLM
•Ability to work independently with limited supervision in a small company culture
•Ability to work effectively with internal and external clients
•Effective critical thinking and problem solving skills with an eye for creating unique solutions and internal efficiencies
•History of successfully managing and completing projects on-time and within budget
•Extremely high attention to detail
•Experience with Quality Management Systems or working at a company with a strong Quality Focus and Standards such as ISO9000. |
